Give this a watch. It’s fascinating, but infuriating and more than a little scary.

My friends are watching it. I don’t know if I will since I don’t have netflix. I do remember reading a lengthy and very good article about this other case:

Which I suppose follows a similar theme, but I can’t find it anymore.

Green Bay resident here. I have no plans to watch this. I watched this unfold in real time. Here’s a comment from my lawyer friend (who is totally unrelated to this case and does not live around here):

“Well, she went to his junk yard and was never seen again. Her car was found there. His sweat DNA was under the hood of the car. Her camera and palm pilot were found there. Her burned remains were found there...and that’s before we get to allegedly planted DNA evidence. He probably did it or one of his relatives did. I won’t be signing any petitions, as I am certainly not convinced of his innocence. I also have to think enough of public servants to believe that someone honest would have seen something and called Dean Strang.

Obviously, coerced confessions do exist, but unless a juror has prior knowledge of such a case that they saw on Dateline or something, good luck trying to educate them on coerced confessions without a really good expert and a really tolerant judge.”

Excuse me for playing the world’s smallest violin for Avery;

He may be framed, but I am very comfortable with the thought that he is guilty. You hardly see 1% the interest for Halbach, a gal who just tried to make a living and who begged not to be sent on the assignment. Oooops, that part didn’t make the series........
